HOW FAMILY LAW CHAMBERS CAN HELP
Efficient and Practical Help Resolving Matrimonial and Family Issues
The focus of the practice is to find consensual ways of resolving family issues. The preferred approach, is for couples with divorce or family issues to approach us jointly with a view to being advised together and assisted in reaching a mutually acceptable agreement. Caroline also offers a consultancy to individuals to guide them through the process of family disputes and proceedings. Although a barrister by qualification, advocacy is not the specialism.
THE DIRECT ACCESS SCHEME
Caroline Hely Hutchinson is a public access barrister who also has authorisation to conduct litigation. cf Barristers' Register She set up Family Law Chambers to seek efficient, practical options for resolving family issues.
The Public Access scheme allows lay clients to seek advice from barristers without going through a solicitor.
Caroline also has a LITIGATION CERTIFICATION, which enables her to perform tasks otherwise only open to solicitors, including
issuing proceedings and liaising with the Court,
writing letters on your behalf
overseeing the day to day care and conduct of your matter
liaising with the other party's solicitor and third parties
The combination of the dual certification assists the client in minimising costs, obtaining such legal help as is necessary on a highly flexible basis.

CLIENT AGREEMENT LETTER (CAL)
Before barristers are authorised to give a client advice there must be in place a Client Agreement Letter, setting out the ambit of the work to be undertaken and the fee arrangement for such work. Thereafter, any advice is covered by professional insurance.
Caroline is happy to hear from you for a free conversation in which she can discover the details of the legal assistance which you need and consider whether she is best placed to assist you. Professional rules of conduct preclude her from giving advice in this conversation.
Once there is a CAL in place Caroline can undertake the role agreed. Whether it be drafting a prenuptial agreement, advising you on a likely financial settlement on divorce or quantifying your interest in a co-owned property, you will find she is approachable, diligent and will fight for your best interests
Caroline had genuine empathy in understanding my situation and worked to resolve my acrimonious circumstance with the best possible outcome. Caroline kept correspondence to what was necessary resulting in fees being kept to a minimum. I very highly recommend Caroline.
